Three Squares. A request for a Retirement Card

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far. My dear husband has been on night duty this weekend and what better an excuse to do some crafting than when I have to keep quiet when he`s asleep!! Oh Bliss!!

This week over at http://http//simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/ our task this week was to come up with a card containing three squares.

This tied in nicely with a request from my husband Ron to do a retirement card for a collegue at work. This solved the problem of how to set out the card. Now for the image. What to do. After a good rummage through all my stamps I eventually settled on a set from Michelle Marsden " The Vintage Collection". As the person retiring does a lot of travelling I thought these set of cases fitted the bill nicely. This I stamped using memento ink and then coloured in using my Prismacolor pencils. I then mounted my stamped squares onto Beige pearlescent card from Crafter`s Companion. My base card is also CC card centura pearl snow white. Pink card from my card stash was border punched using Martha Stewart Punch the name of which I can`t remeber at present. I finished off the card with a retirement sentiment from Crafter`s Companion/Jayne Nesterenko`s Cute Companion Summer set. Now all I have to do is find a suitable insert and that`s it ready for Ron to take in with him to work on Monday.
Thankyou to all who left comments on my last week entry and I do appreciate the extra ideas form you as well. Love reading all your comments as usual.xxx

  5. Great image to match up with the sentiment. I love the off-setting of the images, even though the squares run right down the center. Nicely done.

  12. Smashing card and a stroke of genius to use the stack of suitcases for a retirement card. Thank you so much for commenting on my blog and yes, the squares are an integral part of my magenta stamp - I've not used it for ages (and ages) and the three squares challenge seemed like THE perfect opportunity
